The Yucca Valley High School Lady Trojan soccer team came out ready to win their first league game played on the Trojan field this Wednesday (December 8). The Trojan defense has come a long way in just the past two weeks of training allowing them to really take control of the field. The Trojans were ahead 1 – 0 at half and into the last 20 minutes of the game. Cathedral City tied it up before the end, which sent them into overtime. The Trojans remained tied up 1 – 1 after the first ten minute interval and just fell short due to a penalty kick called against them in the last few minutes of the game, ending the game 2-1 and falling to Cathedral City.
Play of the game was the goal made off a corner kick by #5 Sarah Krenelka and finished with a running header by #4 Eden Ricketts.
Coach Pessa says this is an amazing start of the season, and they see great potential in this varsity team.
