The Yucca Valley High School boys’ wrestling team beat the Desert Mirage wrestling team last night after hosting Senior Night and recognizing their graduating seniors.
Coach Larry Giron said graduating seniors for the wrestling team are Carah Takahashi, Tiffany Bartels, Onkar Sandhu, Henry Soto, Malaky Chiu and Ulysses Gamboa.
Winning matches for the Trojan boys were John Cruz, Tim Harris, Ulysses Gamboa, David Hernandez and Onkar Sandhu
The fastest pin of the night was by John Cruz in 47 seconds.
The girls won their dual 18-6, winning three out of four matches, all by pins.
Winning for the girls were Anallelly Juarez, Carah Takahashi and Kassandra Rivera.
Junior varsity won 12-6.
Winning junior varsity matches were Jeremy Land and Colby Rideout, both also by pins.
Saturday, the Yucca Valley wrestlers will host the Trojan War wrestling tournament at the Yucca Valley High School Gym. Wrestling Saturday starts at 10 a.m.
