A Yucca Valley woman who attempted to drive with an infant who was not in a car seat was arrested Friday, accused of child endangerment. Deputies were called to the 7600 block of Borrego Trail in Yucca Valley about 4:15 p.m. where they contacted Yvonna Ausman, 29. Ausman had a 3-month old baby and had been planning on driving with the baby in a diaper bag instead of in a car seat. Deputies arrived before she was able to leave. The baby was unharmed but was taken to Hi-Desert Medical Center as a precaution. Yvonna Ausman was arrested on suspicion of child endangerment, booked into the West Valley Detention Center, with her bail set at $100,000.
