A Yucca Valley woman was arrested Friday (April 1) following a domestic disturbance with a family member. According to Sheriff’s logs, deputies responded to the 58900 block of David Avenue in Yucca Valley shortly after noon on April 1 when a victim called to report that his family member, Maria Slone, 26, had injured him during a fight. Allegedly, the victim and Slone were fighting earlier in the day when Slone punched and slapped the victim. As the victim attempted to leave the room they were in, Slone reportedly threw a 50 oz metal canteen at the victim’s head, causing a laceration. The victim received three staples for the laceration on their head at Hi-Desert Medical Center. Maria Slone was subsequently arrested for suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and booked into the West Valley Detention Center with her bail set at $50,000.
