YUCCA VALLEY WOMAN ARRESTED AFTER HIT-AND-RUN PURSUIT

A 29-year-old woman was arrested on Interstate-10 after she allegedly hit another car in Yucca Valley and then fled. According to the Sheriff’s Department, Chelsea Headrick of Yucca Valley struck another vehicle that was leaving a business at Sage Avenue and Highway 62 at 6:42 Tuesday morning. The victim told deputies that Headrick’s car was hung up on the rear of his car, and after he helped her remove it, she got in her car and left the scene. The victim followed her, while calling the Sheriff’s Department. Headrick stopped briefly in Morongo Valley, and then drove off again. Deputy Corey Emon caught up to Headrick near Dillon Road in Desert Hot Springs. Headrick again stopped briefly, and before taking off and merging onto westbound traffic on the freeway, before finally pulling over on the shoulder of the freeway. Chelsea Headrick was arrested for investigation of hit-and-run, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, and released about 3:15 p.m. Anyone who witnessed the hit-and-run should call the Sheriff’s Department at 760-366-4175.
