YUCCA VALLEY WOMAN ACCUSED OF TRYING TO RUN OVER A CONTRACTOR

A Yucca Valley woman who was angry over dust and noise from construction in her neighborhood was arrested Friday, after she allegedly tried to run over the construction contractor. Deputies were called to the area of Palo Alto Avenue and Paxton Road in Yucca Valley about 5:30 by the contractor. He said that the woman, identified as Cheryl Davis, 64, had confronted him for creating a dust cloud and told him that he needed to stop working because it was after 5 p.m. He said that when he refused to leave, Davis drove her gray Honda CR-V directly toward him. Her CR-V hit the curb, and the victim said the only reason why he wasn’t hit was because he jumped out of the way. Davis then drove to her home on Palo Alto Avenue. Cheryl Davis was arrested for investigation of assault with a deadly weapon, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, and released on a $50,000 bail bond.
