A Yucca Valley woman was arrested Monday, accused of stealing from Home Depot. According to a Sheriff’s report, Emily Smith went to the Home Depot in Yucca Valley and stole about $1,400 worth of merchandise. A store employee confronted Smith after she left the store, and she returned about half the goods, but refused to return the rest. Smith got into a car driven by another woman and they left about 4 p.m. Deputies later located Smith at a home in the 7800 block of Inca Trail in Yucca Valley, who said that she gave the merchandise to another person to sell and she would receive half the proceeds. Emily Smith was arrested for investigation of organized retail theft, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with her bail set at zero dollars.
