A Yucca Valley woman was arrested Tuesday, accused of identity theft. According to a Sheriff’s report, a deputy checked a vehicle that ran out of gas near Calle Los Amigos and Sunburst Avenue in Joshua Tree about 12:30 a.m. The deputy learned that the driver, Michelle Towne, 27, had a misdemeanor warrant for her arrest for resisting arrest. The deputy searched the vehicle and found multiple items related to multiple crimes. Michelle Towne was arrested on suspicion of identity theft, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with her bail set at $50,000.
