YUCCA VALLEY WOMAN ACCUSED OF IDENTITY THEFT

A Yucca Valley woman was arrested Wednesday night after she was found with another woman’s checkbook. According to a Sheriff’s report, a deputy stopped a car near West Drive and Pioneer Drive in Morongo Valley about 11:30 p.m. Driving the car was Jennifer Thompson, 35, who is on felony probation for identity theft. During a search of the vehicle, the deputy found a checkbook that belonged to another woman. When the owner of the checkbook was contacted, she denied knowing Thompson and said she was not supposed to have her checkbook. Jennifer Thompson was arrested for violating her probation, and for investigation of false impersonation, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, and is being held without bail.
