A Yucca Valley woman was arrested Monday, accused of child neglect. Sheriff’s deputies made a welfare check about 2 p.m. Monday on a home in the 6300 block of Indio Avenue in Yucca Valley where they contacted Sara Haney, 31, and her three children, a 2-year-old girl, 3-year-old girl, and 8-year-old boy. Deputy Roger Alfaro walked through the house and discovered an overwhelming amount of animal feces and urine embedded in the carpet throughout the home. In addition, there were several safety issues inside the home that posed a threat to the young children. Child Protective Services responded and removed the children from the home. The 2-year-old girl also had an infection in her left wrist, which required all the children to be quarantined at Hi-Desert Medical Center. Based on the living conditions in the home, Sara Haney was arrested on suspicion of child neglect, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with her bail set at $100,000.
