YUCCA VALLEY WOMAN ACCUSED OF CHECK FORGERY

A Yucca Valley woman was arrested Wednesday, accused of check fraud. According to a Sheriff’s report, a deputy was sent to the 61600 block of Capilla Drive in Joshua Tree about 3 p.m. to investigate a possible check forgery. The victim gave the deputy a copy of a check that had been forged with the victim’s account number but a different name printed on the check. The deputy ran a records check on the name listed on the check, and contacted Michelle Schram, 41, in the 7200 block of Apache Trail in Yucca Valley. The report states that Schram admitted to possessing and attempting to cash the check for $500. Michelle Schram was arrested for investigation of forgery, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with her bail set at $25,000.
