YUCCA VALLEY WATER LEAK REPAIR COULD CAUSE SOME DISCOLORATION

Residents in the West end of Yucca Valley may see some discoloration of their water after a steel water pipe near Navajo Trail and Pinon Drive sprung a leak early Wednesday morning. Hi-Desert Water District crews turned off the water to homes on the south side of the highway about 6:30 a.m. to begin repairs on the pipe. Crews had to cut out the pipe with the leak and replaced it, then repaved the hole in 29 Palms Outer Highway South. The water was turned back on about 10:30 a.m. Customers could temporarily experience brown water flowing from their faucets due to some residual sediment as a result of the leak. The water will turn clear once all sediment has been flushed out of the pipes surrounding the repair.
