YUCCA VALLEY VARSITY SOCCER BRINGS HOME ELKS GOLD CUP

Yucca Valley High School boys’ soccer played an away game in Twentynine Palms High School, varsity won 2-0 and got to bring home the much coveted Elks Gold Cup.

The game was all tied up until the second half with five minutes to play. Junior midfielder Marcelo Noble scored the first goal from a corner shot, and a minute later, senior striker Alan Campos scored the second goal that sealed the victory. 

Junior goalkeeper Tyler Cooper had a shutout and the defensive line played their best game of the season.

Players of the match go to seniors Alan Campos, Angel Ramirez, Seth Nazario and Truman Powell. These young men are leaders of the team and today they played with hearts of champions.

Coach Jorge Rodriguez wants to thank the coaching staff Adan Mendoza, Art Gradilla and Lee Slack who are a huge part of the Yucca Valley High School soccer program. “These guys work with our players practice after practice and are always putting in extra effort to ensure our team is ready to play,” Rodriguez said. “A big thanks also to all the parents and guardians for their support.” The community is invited to join the Trojan soccer team for its last home game of the season as the team celebrates its seniors, class of 2020.
