YUCCA VALLEY VARSITY GIRLS’ SOCCER LOSES TO INDIO

By Varsity Coach Jolene Pessa

In Yucca Valley High School girls’ soccer, varsity lost to Indio 2-0; JV tied 0-0.

It was the last season game against Indio.

Coach Jolene Pessa said, “This was a tough match for the Trojans. Being the last game for our seniors, it was very emotional for the team.  Goalie Shelbee Howe made 14 saves and we had a few nice break-aways. Unfortunately, we just couldn’t finish tonight. These girls should be very proud of what they have accomplished this year and walk away with their heads held high.”

Thursday night was the junior varsity girls’ last season game against Indio. The game ended in a well-earned tie. Coach Dawn Boatman said the girls went all out, pushing themselves the entire game. “I’m proud of how well they kept their sportsmanship up against Indio. They had possession of the ball for a good portion of the game. This game really showed how much they have learned through-out the season. Well done girls!”
