Yucca Valley Trojans dominate Desert Mirage in Homecoming Game

The Yucca Valley Trojans football team dominated Desert Mirage with a 70-7 win at Friday Night’s (October 14) Homecoming Game.

The Trojans scored 10 touchdowns in the game, 8 of which came in the first half. This setup a running clock the entire second half.

Offensively, Stephon Rogers had a 94 yard touchdown kick return and a 24 yard touchdown run. Malachi Harper, had two touchdown runs, one for 58 yards and another for 50 yards.

In the Trojans passing attack, Javin Hudson, Malachi Harper, Landon Stitt, and Myles Harper all had touchdown catches. Michael Ramos had 170 yards passing and 4 touchdown passes. Nicholas Cruz was 10 for 10 on point after kicks.

Defensively, Javin Hudson had an interception for a 38 yard touchdown and David Gutierrez had an interception for a 85 yard touchdown. David Gutierrez led the defense with 10 tackles followed by Javin Hudson with 9 tackles.

Head Coach Jeremy Johnson said that the player of the game is David Gutierrez. Dave had 10 tackles and a pick six vs Desert Mirage. David has 61 tackles on the season.
