YUCCA VALLEY TROJAN BASEBALL DOMINATES BANNING

The Yucca Valley High School Trojan varsity baseball team beat the Banning Broncos at home yesterday by a score of 12-2.

Coach Josh Griswald said the win moves the Trojans to 2-1 in league play. Senior Brandon Goodpaster was dominant on the mound and at the plate.  Brandon pitched six innings, struck out nine batters and allowed zero earned runs, while going 3-3 at the plate, with a single, triple and double.  Senior Andy Davis went 2-4 with a double and an RBI, and senior Hayden Higgins went 2-4, while also pitching the last frame, striking out two batters to finish the game.
