YUCCA VALLEY TOWN YOUTH COMMISSIONERS SOUGHT

The Town of Yucca Valley is looking for young people to serve on their Youth Commission. Reporter Taylor Thacker tells who is being sought and how to apply…
Attention Yucca Valley high school and junior high students… Participate in your local government. The Town of Yucca Valley is currently looking for teens to fill seats on its 2013/2014 Youth Commission. The Youth Commission was established to have teens give advice regarding youth-related issues and public issues such as youth policies, programs, and opportunities to the Town of Yucca Valley’s Town Council. Last year’s commissioners assisted with Community Services Department special events, produced two YouTube videos, held a Teen Topics forum, and did much more. The Youth Commission meets in general session once a month on the first Monday at 6:30 p.m. from October through June. The last day to submit an application is Tuesday, September 3, 2013. Applications are available at the Yucca Valley Community Services Office, Town Hall, the Hi-Desert Nature Museum, and the front offices of La Contenta Middle School and Yucca Valley High School. For more information call 760-369-7211 or go online to www.yucca-valley.org.
