YUCCA VALLEY TOWN COUNCIL TO MEET TONIGHT

After hearing an update on the Yucca Valley sewer project and a year-end report from the Yucca Valley Youth Commission, the town council will hold a public hearing on public nuisance abatements. Council members will be asked to place tax liens against seven properties in the town for the cost of cleaning up the properties. 58220 Diadem Drive; 56831 Little League Drive; 56425 Twenty-nine Palms Hwy; 7389 Bannock Trai; Vacant Lot on Linda Lee Drive; 7461 Elata Avenue; and 6385 Del Monte Ave. Next are department reports on Measure Y and the appointment of a new member for the Revenue Measure Oversight Commission. The council will also be asked to approve the budget and contracts for $4.9 million contract for the Sheriff’s Department and $68,000 for IT services. And finally, the council will form two ad hoc committees to deal with community partnership applications and the library building project. The meeting starts at 6 p.m. in the Yucca Room of the Yucca Valley Community Center.
