YUCCA VALLEY TOWN COUNCIL TO HEAR A PUBLIC SAFETY REPORT TONIGHT

Sheriff’s Captain Jeff Joling will present his annual public safety report to the Yucca Valley Town Council at its meeting tonight. The report shows that in the town limits, most types of crime declined in 2016. Also on the agenda, council members will be asked to approve the purchase of emergency generators for the town’s animal shelter and the town hall, as well as new shelving. Council members will be asked to authorize the town’s participation in the California Municipal Finance Authority Open Property Assessed Clean Energy program; and authorize the acceptance of a hazard mitigation grant. Council members will then review the town’s existing service contracts and provide direction to staff. And finally, the council will review the town’s general plan annual housing element progress report. The meeting starts at 6 p.m. in the Yucca Room of the Yucca Valley Community Center.
