YUCCA VALLEY TOWN COUNCIL TO DECLARE TOWN EMERGENCY IN A BUSY SESSION TONIGHT

Prior to tonight’s regular meeting, the Yucca Valley Town Council will hold a special meeting at 5:45 p.m. during which it will declare an emergency within the town due to the coronavirus. Managing editor Tami Roleff says the regular meeting will start with the recognition of County Fire Chief Dan Munsey and Sheriff’s Deputy Chief Trevis Newport, after which the council will get down to business…

Among the items on the consent agenda, the council will be asked to approve submitting an application to the Mojave Desert Air Quality Management District for two electric vehicle charging stations at the new library and at the California Welcome Center. The council will also be asked to approve a request for $5,000 from Tri-Valley Little League. Under department reports, the council will receive an update on the coronavirus; an annual presentation from the Public Works department; an update on regional broadband; and a report on 2020 legislative priorities. Tonight’s meeting is set for 6 p.m. in the Yucca Room of the Yucca Valley Community Center.

The council will go into closed session following the meeting to discuss property negotiations for two properties owned by Tri-Valley Little League, east of the Boys’ and Girls Club.
