YUCCA VALLEY TOWN COUNCIL TALKS TAXES, SIDEWALKS, AND AWARDS

At last night’s meeting, the Yucca Valley Town Council recognized Linda Shaw-Morrison as the recipient of the Spirit of Yucca Valley Award, for her numerous donations to the High Desert Pregnancy Clinic, and were introduce to Miss Yucca Valley 2021 and her court. The council then held a public hearing, and unanimously approved, two annual renewals for the town: The placement of Solid Waste Handling Service Charges on the 2021-2022 Yucca Valley Property Taxes and the collection of tax assessments for Annual Street and Drainage & Landscape and Lighting.

The board then unanimously approved staff recommendations regarding allocation of town funds for continued road maintenance and sidewalk construction (scheduled to begin upon completion of the Highway 62 maintenance project), updating the town’s retention of legal records, the town’s Strategic Planning calendar, the success of the town’s May 15 community clean-up day (and future community clean-up program proposals), and an amendment to Town Manager Curtis Yakimow’s employment agreement.
