The Yucca Valley Town Council held a special meeting Friday evening to swear in its newly elected council members. Managing editor Tami Roleff has the details…
Due to the late certification of election results by the county Registrar of Voters, the newly elected council members were not officially sworn in at the regular meeting on Tuesday, December 4. So the town held a special meeting on Friday to swear in Rick Denison, Merl Abel, and Jim Schooler. Robert Lombardo took over as mayor and Jeff Drozd was named mayor pro tem. In other business, the council appointed Rick Denison (a former fire battalion chief) and Jeff Drozd to serve on a San Bernardino County Fire Department projects ad hoc committee, to work with the county fire department about a new fire station for Yucca Valley.
