YUCCA VALLEY TOWN COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING ON COMPETING DESERT PROTECTION BILLS

The Yucca Valley Town Council has called a special meeting for tonight (Monday, December 7), to approve a resolution in support of either Congressman Paul Cook’s California Minerals, Off-Road Recreation, and Desert conservation act, or Senator Dianne Feinstein’s Wilderness, Wild and Scenic Rivers, National Park and Preserve Additions in the California Desert act. The Council will also discuss whether Mayor George Huntington should submit a letter to President Obama urging him to not use the Antiquities Act to designate three national monuments in southern California. The meeting will be held at 5:30 in the Yucca Room of the Yucca Valley Community Center.
