State voters approved Prop 68 on the June primary ballot, which will provide grant funding for local and state parks. The Town of Yucca Valley is the only municipality in the state to meet all the requirements for a $22 million grant for an aquatic park, and during tonight’s meeting of the Yucca Valley Town Council, the council will be asked to authorize the first step in applying for the grant. Other items on tonight’s agenda include a presentation by Sheriff’s lieutenant Mike Barta and a report on the damage and clean up in the town from the October storm. Tonight’s meeting starts at 6 p.m. in the Yucca Room of the Yucca Valley Community Center.
