The Yucca Valley animal shelter will take up much of the town council’s business at tonight’s meeting. The council will be asked to approve a four-year contract with the county for the animal shelter, as well as a contract to purchase new generators for the shelter. In addition, the council will vote on a contract to demolish the old animal shelter. And finally, the council will hear a presentation from the animal shelter. Other business includes adopting a hazard mitigation plan, and approving a new salary schedule, since the minimum wage for some new employees may be more than the salary for experienced employees. And finally, the council will review the town’s special revenue funds budget. The meeting is set for 6 p.m. in the Yucca Room of the Yucca Valley Community Center.
