The Yucca Valley Town Council will hold a series of public hearings in the coming weeks to hear public input and consider draft maps for changing to by-district elections. Managing editor Tami Roleff says they will be holding a meeting tonight…
The Yucca Valley Town Council, under threat of a lawsuit from a Malibu lawyer, will be changing its council voting from “at-large” to “by-district” elections. That means that a candidate may only run for the council seat that represents the district in which that candidate lives, and only the voters in a given district may vote on which candidate will represent them on the town council. The council will hold a public hearing tonight on potential voting district boundaries. The meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. tonight in the Yucca Room of the Yucca Valley Community Center.
