YUCCA VALLEY TOWN COUNCIL IN A WIDE RANGING MEETING TONIGHT

The Yucca Valley Town Council meets in a busy and wide ranging meeting tonight. Managing editor Tami Roleff takes a close look at the council’s agenda…
After recognizing Sheriff’s Sergeant Rick Millard for 20 years of service, the Yucca Valley Town Council will be asked to approve the consent agenda, which includes the purchase of a new F250 pickup truck for $32,676 from Yucca Valley Ford, and approve the continuation of the Sheriff’s work-release program. On the action agenda, the council will be asked to approve placing liens totaling nearly $57,000 for cleaning up properties at 7124 Mohawk Avenue, 6442 Fortuna Avenue, and 7801 Barberry Avenue. The council will then hear the results of a community survey and provide direction to staff on whether to place a sales tax measure on the November ballot. Next, the council will hear a presentation from the Desert Regional Tourism Agency asking for $40,000 to participate in a marketing plan. And finally, the council will receive the 2016 strategic plan status review. The meeting starts at 6 p.m. in the Yucca Room of the Yucca Valley Community Center.
