YUCCA VALLEY TOWN COUNCIL HONORS EMPLOYEES OF THE YEAR

Last night the Yucca Valley Town Council honored a departing planning commissioner and named the town’s full- and part-time employees of the year at its regular meeting. Managing editor Tami Roleff passes out the kudos…

Employee of the Year, Megan Stueckle

After honoring departing Planning Commissioner Charles McHenry, the Yucca Valley Town Council named Megan Stueckle of the Yucca Valley Parks and Rec department as the full-time employee of the year. Stueckle started working with the town seven years ago as a part-time employee and has worked her way up to being the only full-time employee in her department. The part-time employee of the year is Justin Wortman, a kennel technician with the Yucca Valley animal shelter. Wortman started working for the animal shelter two years and has the very glamorous responsibilities of cleaning the animal kennels and taking care of the shelter’s animals. Sheriff’s Lieutenant Mike Barta informed the council that the Morongo Basin station will be losing four deputies, who will be transferring to other departments and cities. While the Sheriff’s station will get replacements for Deputies Sean Lenihan (Victorville), Alex Millan (Central); Roger Perez (Court Services), and Robert Moreno (Gangs/narcotics), they will be new and untrained, and it will take a while to get them up to speed.
