The Yucca Valley Town Council will be busy spending money at its meeting tonight. Managing editor Tami Roleff says a Yucca Valley Film Festival and construction plans for the library in the PFF Bank Building are on the agenda, as well as forming an advisory council for the new aquatic center, and a discussion of murals on buildings in the town…
A Yucca Valley Film Festival could well be in the town’s future this year, if the town council likes the proposal it will hear at tonight’s meeting. The organizers are requesting that the town fund the festival to the tune of $25,000.
Also tonight, the council will be asked to approve the renovation plans—at a cost of $2.9 million—for the new library in the old PFF Bank building.
Next up, the council will be asked to give the go-ahead to forming citizens’ advisory group for the town’s new aquatic center.
And finally, the town will discuss several murals painted on building walls that are not in compliance with the town’s sign and mural ordinance.
The meeting will be followed by a closed session in which they will discuss the potential sale of the old gas station at 55460 29 Palms Highway in Old Town Yucca Valley.
Tonight’s meeting starts at 6 p.m. in the Yucca Room of the Yucca Valley Community Center.
