The Yucca Valley Town Council met last night (December 21) to discuss zoning issues and to receive a thorough briefing on the status of the Yucca Valley Airport. Reporter Jef Harmatz brings us a recap.
At last night’s regular meeting, the council approved several changes to the town’s zoning definitions. First, the council approved a broader definition of the term “single-family” in regards to housing that does not necessitate familial ties between people living together, and second, stricter definitions of the term “campground” that excludes RV parks, “glamping,” and hotel/motel operations. The Council received an overview of the Yucca Valley Airport, and the entities that own and oversee the facility. Both council members and airport representatives expressed an interest in partnering for the betterment of the airport, specifically in the pursuit of government funding. The addition of restroom, fuel, and hangar facilities were suggested as possible improvements to consider. Finally, the council approved a resolution to secure financing for the construction of the aquatics center and for renovations to the senior center.
