YUCCA VALLEY TOWN COUNCIL APPROVES SITE, SINGLE PHASED CONSTRUCTION OF AQUATICS FACILITY

Last night, the Yucca Valley Town Council approved Brehm Park as the site for the long-discussed pool and aquatics facility. Reporter Jef Harmatz was there and brings us the very latest on the project.

At a special meeting, the Town Council voted in favor of the North Brehm Park site as the location for a $30 million pool and aquatics facility. The project, which has been in the works since the passage of the Parks and Water Bond Act (Prop 68) in 2018 will feature a pool with two sections: one section will have six swim lanes, and the other section will be built for general recreation and have a zero-depth/beach style entry point. The council also approved a single-phase construction plan, which was determined to minimize costs and limit disruption to the surrounding areas. The council will now solicit concepts from various design teams, with the completion of design drawings expected in November 2022. Based on the plan approved last night, the pool is expected to open in the spring of 2024.
