Tuesday’s Yucca Valley Town Council will start with a closed session on two real property negotiations before opening up at 5:00 pm to the consent agenda and department reports, where the Town is expected to receive and file the first update to the Yucca Valley Animal Shelter’s 90-day operational review.
Town Council will also vote on sponsorship of the Joshua Tree No-Kill Shelter’s annual Woof Walk fundraiser, this year taking place at Essig Park in Yucca Valley along with amendment to the town’s public nuisance code.
This will be the first Town Council meeting to take place after Yucca Valley Animal Shelter Manager Doug Smith was accused of improperly euthanizing animals in a story broke by Z107.7. Taking the last three town council meetings as a precedent, the public comment period is expected to be lengthy with residents using their allotted 3 mins to share their opinions and experiences with the Town’s Animal Shelter.
The Yucca Valley Town Council meeting is this Tuesday (4/1) and starts at 5:00 p.m. in the Yucca Room at the Yucca Valley Community Center.
