Snow is coming to the high desert as part of Yucca Valley’s “Holiday Celebration.” This Saturday’s (December 4) event will feature local crafts, photo opportunities, and sledding on real snow. Here’s reporter Jef Harmatz with more information.
To create a true winter wonderland, the Town of Yucca Valley is importing more than 40 tons of real snow for sledding and tobogganing. The annual event will also bring together the desert’s finest artists and craftspeople for a holiday market of unique and handmade goods that will make for fabulous gifts. Expect to see sculpture, home décor, clothing, photography, ceramics, jewelry, candles, toys and more from over fifty local vendors. There will be holiday cookies, cocoa, and Santa Claus himself is expected to make an appearance at this free event. The fun begins at 10 a.m. this Saturday and goes until 3 p.m. at the Yucca Valley Community Center.
