YUCCA VALLEY TO CONSIDER EXTENSION OF STVR PAUSE, SENIOR CENTER IMPROVEMENTS

Tonight, (December 7) the Yucca Valley Town Council will discuss the possibility of extending the current freeze on any new short-term vacation rentals as well as improvements to the senior center. Reporter Jef Harmatz has a rundown of their full agenda. 

At tonight’s regularly scheduled meeting, the council will consider a jam-packed agenda. The council will vote on whether to hold a public hearing about the extension of the short-term vacation rental moratorium. Two measures relating to the senior center, including the approval of final plans and the purchase of new kitchen equipment, will also be considered. Mayor Merl Abel will give a “State of the Town” address, before a new mayor and mayor pro tem will be chosen from the remaining council members. The council will also approve a final draft of the 2022-24 Strategic Plan, consider road improvements, and much much more. The meeting will be held tonight at 6 p.m. at the Yucca Valley Community Center and can also be attended online.
