YUCCA VALLEY TENNIS BEATS TWENTYNINE PALMS IN LAST MATCH OF SEASON

The Yucca Valley High School girls’ varsity tennis team beat Twentynine Palms 13-5 in the last league match of the season. The team came in second place with a league record of 11-3. Katie Brattain finished the season undefeated. Coach Cindy Miller said up next will be Desert Valley Individual Tournament on Monday and Tuesday at Indian Wells Tennis Garden. Start time will be noon. The CIF Team Playoffs will begin the week of October 29. Time and place to be announced.

In singles, Katie Brattain again swept her sets, 6-0, 6-0, 6-0; Elizabeth Anderson won 4-6, 7-5, 6-2; Eden Ricketts 6-4, 1-6; Catherine Jones 1-6. In doubles, Mckenzi Monical and Rylie Rohr won in three sets, 6-2, 6-2, 6-1; Jade Arnhold and Orion Ricketts also won, 6-1, 6-0, 6-2; Gisele Julian and Rachelle Henriguez were 6-7, (4-7), 2-6; Cheyenne Crane and Skye Hanson 6-3. Miller said all the girls played really well.

The Twentynine Palms High School Varsity girls tennis team are 8 and 6 in league and 11 and 7 overall.
