YUCCA VALLEY TENNIS BEATS DESERT MIRAGE HIGH SCHOOL

The Yucca Valley High School girls’ varsity tennis team beat Desert Mirage 15-3.

Coach Cindy Miller said in singles, Abby Aubuchon won 6-1, 6-1, 6-0. Mckayla Henry went 7-6(7-5), 6-3, 6-0. Other singles players were Catherine Jones, 6-2; and Eden Ricketts 6-0. 2-6.

In doubles, Mckenzi Monical and Rylie Rohr went 6-4, 6-0, 6-0. Alex Costa won two sets, 3-6, 6-0, 6-0, and Rachelle Henriquez and Kennia Torres also won two sets: 6-3, 6-0. Kennia Torres and Samatha Hall went 2-6. The team is now 12-1.

The Yucca Valley tennis team is currently ranked eighth in Division 5. Miller said, “The team is looking really good. They are ready to take on Twentynine Palms Wednesday. Come out and support your Trojans Tennis Team Wednesday as they take on Twentynine Palms at home. The team has been playing really well all season.” Miller said Mckenzi Monical and Rylie Rohr are 38-1. Abby and Mckayla are 33-6. Game time is 3:15 at home Wednesday.
