On Tuesday, Morongo Unified School District Superintendent Tom Baumgarten honored Rauch and his students for their unprecedented mean test scores. At Yucca Valley High School, 46 students passed the AP government test—compared to only 26 students from the last exam—and the mean average score of 3.07 exceeded the California mean score of 2.57 and even the global mean score of 2.7. Rauch's students from his AP government class and student leadership class thanked Rauch by presenting him with a congratulatory banner. Rauch stated that the test results were no surprise to him, given the amount of hard work and dedication that the students had put forth.
