YUCCA VALLEY SWIMMERS SCORE 3 WINS AT FIRST MEET WEDNESDAY

The Yucca Valley High School Trojan swim teams traveled to Coachella Valley High School Wednesday for their first dual meet of the league season. The teams swam away with three wins: boys varsity won, 113-52; girls varsity won, 118-52; and girls junior varsity won, 68-39.

The Yucca Valley High School Trojan boys’ 200-meter medley relay team took not only first place with a CIF-consideration time, they broke the school record of 1:59.86, dated back in 2007, with a time of 1:58.42.

The Trojans also earned the following CIF-consideration cuts:

  • 200-meter medley relay team of Sam Evdokimoff, Griffin Hilderbrand, Carl Manter, and Aaden Poyuzina;
  • 200-meter free relay team of Markina Evdokimoff, Jordyn Koger, Kendall Cox, and Skye Hansen;
  • 400-meter free relay team of Markina, Jordyn, Ashley Amstutz, and Skye Hansen;
  • Skye Hansen: 100-meter freestyle; and
  • Markina Jordyn: 50-meter freestyle, 100-meter freestyle, 100-meter butterfly, and 100-meter backstroke.
