YUCCA VALLEY SWIMMERS OWN POOL AGAINST INDIO

In high school sports, the Yucca Valley High School swim team defeated Indio High School yesterday, 132-37 for girls and 73-56 boys.

Trojan Swimmers owned the home pool Wednesday, March 13, defeating Indio High School 132-37 for girls and 73-56 boys. Both teams won 11 of 11 events, and the girls had 1-2-3 finishes in seven of 11 events.

Kaylee Powell swam the 200-yard individual medley and finished first with a new CIF consideration time. The Lady Trojans’ 200 and 400 freestyle relays had CIF consideration times, with the 400 dropping 2.7 seconds for a better time.

Tommie Jones swam her first varsity 200-yard IM with a competitive time, and Griffin Hilderbrand won his first individual race in the 100-yard breaststroke. Carl Manter swam right outside of CIF consideration time in the 50-yard freestyle for a time of 25.25.

Both teams are 3-0 in league. Next up Yucca Valley High School travels to Desert Hot Springs on Wednesday, March 20.
