YUCCA VALLEY SUNSET ROTARY CLUB TURNS A NEGATIVE TO A POSITIVE

Although COVID-19 has interrupted many plans the world over, the Yucca Valley Sunset Rotary has been pressing forward through tough times. Reporter Joshua King has their statement on how they have been able to turn a negative into a positive…

The Yucca Valley Sunset Rotary Club is doing good in the neighborhood. The District 5330 International Conference to be held in June in Hawaii was cancelled due to the coronavirus. Many Rotary Hawaiian shirts were going to go unused due to the event’s cancellation, but the Rotary Club of Hawaii decided to put those shirts to good use by making masks out of them to sell to every club around the globe. Yucca Valley Sunset Rotary Club purchased 250 masks and its members were able to distribute 184 masks to the community, and donated the remaining 56 masks to Reach Out Morongo Basin. Reach Out Morongo Basin then distributed the masks to volunteers and the elderly and disabled whom they serve. Shirts that were going to go to waste served a good purpose in our small community. That’s recycling at it’s best.
