A 15-year-old student at Yucca Valley High School was arrested Monday, accused of threatening to shoot up the school. According to a Sheriff’s press release, school officials notified the Sheriff’s School Resource Officer about 9:20 a.m. about the boy who had threatened to bring a gun to school. The deputy determined the threat was credible, and a search warrant was served at the boy’s home. During the search, deputies recovered a 12-gauge shotgun, two .22-caliber rifles, a .357 magnum handgun, and about 2,000 rounds of ammunition. The boy was arrested on suspicion of making criminal threats, and the case will be forwarded to the district attorney’s office for review.
