YUCCA VALLEY STABBING VICTIM IDENTIFIED

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department has named the man who was killed in a stabbing in Yucca Valley last week. A woman called 911 about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 14, to report that her boyfriend, identified as Luis Arroyo, 49, had been stabbed in the 7600 block of Cibola Trail. Arroyo was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman gave deputies a description of the suspect, identified as Carlos Herrera, 40, of Twentynine Palms, and his vehicle. Deputies located and stopped Herrera a short time later on eastbound Highway 62 in Twentynine Palms. Herrera was arrested for investigation of murder and is being held without bail in the Morongo Basin Jail. He made his first court appearance yesterday in Joshua Tree Superior Court; his arraignment is set for Friday.
