A Palm Springs transient was arrested on weapons charges Friday after a Yucca Valley resident said he was trespassing. According to a Sheriff’s report, deputies were called about 2 p.m. to the 6300 block of Hermosa Avenue because a man was inside the home and was not allowing the residents inside. When deputies arrived, they detained Garrett Kainoa, 39, who was walking down the street. Kainoa admitted to having an expandable baton, drugs, and drug paraphernalia on his person. Garrett Kainoa was arrested for investigation of possession of a dangerous weapon, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $25,000.
