YUCCA VALLEY SQUATTER ARRESTED FOR GIVING FALSE NAME

A Yucca Valley man was arrested Monday after he gave a false name to a deputy when he was accused of squatting at a home. According to a Sheriff’s report, a woman went to a home in the 8800 block of Imel Street in Yucca Valley about 1:30 p.m. and found a man living inside the home. The man told the woman and her son that another man had given him keys to the house and he was renting the home. When deputies arrived, the squatter gave a false name, but he was later identified as Edgar DeLeon, 28. After an investigation, Edgar DeLeon was arrested on suspicion of false impersonation, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
