The Yucca Valley Town Council recently awarded a $367,400 contract to Pavement Coatings Company for slurry seal road maintenance at various locations throughout the Town. The slurry seal is a highly cost effective tool for maintaining existing roads. The Town’s street maintenance program applies slurry seal about every 7 years. It costs one-tenth the cost to maintain a road in good condition than to let roads deteriorate to the level requiring reconstruction. This project is funded by County-wide Measure I revenues from a ½ cent sales tax. The slurry seal program begins this Tuesday, July 16, and continues weekdays until about August 9. The contractor will provide notice to residences and businesses likely to be affected by the project.
