YUCCA VALLEY SEEKS NEW PLANNING COMMISSIONER

Do you want to help shape the future of Yucca Valley? The town is currently accepting applications for a recently vacated spot on the Planning Commission. Reporter Jef Harmatz tells you how to apply.

Planning Commissioner Margie Trandem resigned from her post earlier this month, after serving on the commission for five years. Now, the, Yucca Valley Planning Commission is seeking a new fifth member to weigh in on developments, land use, and measures relating to the Western Joshua Tree. Commissioners are appointed by the Town Council for typically four-year terms, and each commissioner receives a monthly stipend of $100. Applicants must live within the town of Yucca Valley and will be expected to attend twice-monthly planning commission meetings in addition to performing supplemental duties.
