Theatre 29 will open the classic Christmas comedy, “A Christmas Story” with a gala event Friday, November 18 sponsored by the Rotary Club of Yucca Valley. Here’s reporter Rebecca Havely with your invitation…
Ralphie Parker is on a quest for the Christmas gift of his dreams: A Red Ryder BB Gun. Before acquiring the near-mythical object, though, he first must convince everyone from his mother to a department store Santa that he won’t live up to their chorus of worries, “You’ll shoot your eye out, kid!” Eric Ross directs a cast of 11 children and five adults. The Opening Night Gala Friday, November 18, is sponsored as a fund-raiser by the Yucca Valley Rotary Club. The opening night event, has doors opening at 6 p.m. and includes food, a silent auction, door prizes and an opportunity to view the show from a couch in the front row! The curtain rises at 7 p.m. Tickets for the Opening Night Gala only are $25 and are available from Rotary Event Chair Patti Brown at 760-365-7003.
“A Christmas Story” runs weekends from November 18 through December 17, Friday and Saturday nights at 7 p.m. with 2:30 p.m. matinee performances on Sunday, November 27 and December 11. After opening night, tickets range from $8 to $15 and those tickets are available now at theatre29.org, or by calling the Theatre 29 Box Office at 760-361-4151.
