The Yucca Valley Rotary Club held their annual speech contest earlier this month. Twelve high school students wrote a speech about a subject they felt strongly about while incorporating the four Rotary core values into their speech: Is it true? Is it fair? Will it build good will and better friendships? Is it beneficial to all? Winning third place was Luke Humphreville; second place was Eddie Costello, and first place was awarded to Katie Ferry. The winning students received cash prizes. Ferry will now advance to the regional semi-finals.
