The Yucca Valley Rotary Club held its annual music competition Saturday, February 28, and selected its top three winners to advance to the regional competition. The annual competition is open to all high school students who perform one or two songs by singing or playing an instrument. This year, nine students competed. In third place, and winning $50, was Taylor Franklin, who competed in the vocal category. In second place, and winning $100, was Kiersten King, who also sang. First place winner was Andrew Alkire, who played the piano for a $200 prize. A panel of Rotarians judge the performances. Congratulations to the winners.
