YUCCA VALLEY ROTARY HELPS SCIENCE CAMP FUNDING

The Yucca Valley Noon Rotary Club recently partnered with two elementary schools to help families of sixth grade students send their children to science camp. The Rotary Club is partnering with Onaga Elementary and Yucca Valley Elementary Schools to provide matching funds for families who are unable to raise the entire $300-plus cost of sending children to the camp. Rotary Club President Cynthia Kraemer said, “More than half of the students in the area are on some form of assistance and … and many students are unable to raise the funds. Our matching funds program will allow … us to send as many students as possible.” At science camp, the students will learn aquatic study, birding, orienteering, astronomy, geology, wildlife study, and more.
